WHAT IS THE BEST TIME FOR TRAVEL?
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are the best time for Uzbekistan travel. If you are interested in customs and traditions of local people we recommend planning your trip during festival and national holiday’s time.
HOW TO GET IN?
You can enter Uzbekistan by land border or by taking international flight. The last option is the easiest one. Anyway if you take combine Central Asia tour there will not be any problem with border crossing from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
DO I NEED TO PAY ANYTHING WHEN CROSSING THE BORDERS?
There’re no fees to pay when you enter or depart the country. The only exception is taxi expenses when you will cross neutral zone between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
According to the law you have 72 hours to get registered in Uzbekistan. It isn’t a problem because all hotels provide registration automatically without any extra charge.
It’s a little difficult question because usually no vegetarian food is available in cafes and restaurants. But we can order specially prepared food in advance. Also there isn’t any problem to find fresh vegetables and fruit in local bazaar.
CAN I ACCESS THE INTERNET IN UZBEKISTAN?
You’ll be able to access the internet in every hotel and every city. May be it will not be so fast, but the situation is ok for Uzbekistan. It could be difficult to get access outside hotels and cafes. To have internet all the time we recommend to buy local SIM card with internet package.
CREDIT CARDS AND ATMs
Foreign cards aren’t accepted at most places in Uzbekistan. Prepare by carrying cash with you or arranging alternative payment methods. Not many ATMs in Uzbekistan take foreign cards and they are often unreliable.
CAN I RENT A CAR IN UZBEKISTAN?
Unfortunately not. You can rent a car with a local driver. Our company provides the service.
No vaccinations required prior to entry to the country. If you need to take medicine please check the customs requirements and list of restricted medicines.
IS THERE CLOTHING LIMITATION?
We don’t have strict limitation for women. But we recommend to cover your shoulders and knees when you enter Muslim shrines.
